There is something about being in a city right next to the sea – the tranquility it brings along is sometimes the only thing our tired souls need and Mumbai, the city of dreams as it’s lovingly called, is blessed with beautiful seascapes as well as soul-pleasing sunsets.
So if you’re still not sure where to head out this December, Niki recommends the best places in Mumbai where you can end the year with your loved ones, over beautiful sunsets:
Aka the Queen’s Necklace is one of the favourite choices of Mumbaikars for their doze of sea and sunsets. Situated in South Mumbai, it is a 3.6-kilometre-long Boulevard, one the shore of Arabian Sea. People from all around the city flock to enjoy the breathtaking sunset, with the city as a backdrop. While it is mostly peaceful, you may be disturbed every now and then by local sellers selling tea, coffee, boost, fresh fruits and even offering massages. You can head here at any time of the day or night!
Worli Sea Face
Similar to Marine Drive, Worli Sea Face is also situated in South Mumbai however offers no lights at night. One can enjoy the perfect sunset here with the marvellous Rajiv Gandhi Sea-Link as a backdrop.
Located on Breach Candy, Cumballa Hill, Amarsons Garden is a hidden gem. The entrance is marked by a few corn sellers and 2 small road side eateries. As the name suggests, it is a garden with tracks for walks/jogs etc and benches and green areas for sitting. The best however, it is sea facing. A comparatively less popular location, it is mostly dotted with residents living in the nearby area and it gives one of the best, more peaceful sunsets ever.
Aer Bar, Four Seasons
For those looking to enjoy their sunset with a cocktail in their hand, Aer Bar is the place to be. It is Mumbai highest rooftop bar and has a brilliant collection of wine and crazy cocktails. Slightly on the higher budget end, it provides the most exclusive way to watch a sunset you’ll never forget.
Dome, The Intercontinental
Located on Marine Drive, Dome is the rooftop bar at The Intercontinental and is known for its beautiful view of marine drive. It overlooks the entire Queen’s Necklace and is a wonderful option for a sunset with soft soothing music and a nice drink.
Built by the Portuguese in 1640, is located in Bandra. This centuries old hideout, is ideal for not only getting glimpses of the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link but can also see some stunning sunsets. Often crowded in the evening, it provides for an ideal view. It has also been a popular shooting spot for Bollywood.
Popular for the variety of food chains, it is also ideal for the sunset view. Located in Bandra, Carter Road has a number of food joints and also faces the sea. We suggest grabbing a shawarma from Carter’s Blue, finding a peaceful spot on the promenade and enjoying that sun going down.
What are you waiting for? Head to these beautiful sunset spots and provide your soul the peace it has been wanting for long! For everything else like bus booking, hotel booking or finding cheapest deals near you, just talk to Niki!
